We are making exercise work out for people.

For most people, exercise is a lackluster experience. It's unpleasant, easy to put off, and difficult to do correctly. Modern technology should be addressing these problems but instead we're just seeing the digital versions of tools we've had for decades: fitness literature, log notebooks and workout tapes.

We are in the age of inexpensive hardware, smart phones and ubiquitous internet access; we can do better.

The exergaming trend is a start, but there is a long way to go. At Active Theory we want to use technology and design to transform exercise from a chore to an enjoyable experience. If we do that, people will work out more, be happier and be healthier.

That's the theory, anyway. See how we're taking our first steps with BitGym.
